The Rubik’s cube

I spent the last 3 weeks trying to solve the Rubik’s cube. What an amazing puzzle it is; so symbolic to my current thinking. I am now sure of my aims in life, but the journey to reach there still lies far ahead. There is the same excitement about being at the start of a journey, the same passion that you have when you begin it and the same way every small success that leads you towards your goal gives a lot of pleasure, you can in fact cheat by removing the pieces and joining them, but the pleasure of solving it and the little joys of being able to complete each layer are gone, and that is what we should learn from successes.

Success is not just about the end, but it is about the paths you choose. Yes some may be wrong but what you earn from them is only yours, not something copied from somewhere. It’s not about just showing off what you have achieved; in fact it is about the happiness you get by going through the pursuit, it is about the transformation in you as a person. Success and failures will both transform you; you just choose which way you want.

I read a quote once, don’t remember it exactly, but the context was, as the number of failures increase in your life remember that your journey towards success is speeding. Better to keep trying and enjoying failures and success that come in the way and solve the cube your way.
